“The NHS plays a vital role in caring for society, including those who have served. Walking With The Wounded proudly works alongside the NHS in order to deliver a range of support services to vulnerable veterans and their families.” – Fergus Williams, Director of Operations, WWTW.
From working in partnership with NHS Liaison & Diversion Teams, to embedding our Employment Advisors within the NHS TILS (Transition, Intervention and Liaison Service) - Walking With The Wounded relies on its collaboration with the NHS in order to provide wrap-around care for those who struggle after leaving the military.
WWTW's mental health programme, Head Start, is commissioned by the NHS as part of the veteran mental health provision in the East of England, supporting those who suffer from mild-moderate mental health difficulties by rapidly pairing them with a private, local therapist. Project Nova works with NHS Liaison & Diversion Teams to identify and support veterans who have become caught up within the criminal justice system. And finally, the Step into Health initiative was developed by WWTW in partnership with Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and the NHS Foundation Trust in 2014. The programme now works with 44 NHS trusts across the country, offering employment opportunities within the NHS to veterans, their spouses and dependants and is supported
Thank you NHS! Here is to many more years of working in partnership to provide the best possible support to those who have served our country!
